The Center for Inquiry is the current publisher of the American Rationalist. CfI is “a transnational nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that encourages evidence-based inquiry into science, pseudoscience, medicine and health, religion, ethics, secularism, and society.” We thank CfI for supporting the American Rationalist and, in particular, for agreeing to publish and sponsor AR several years ago, when we seemed to have been approaching the end of the road. We hope our partnership will continue. (KD)

We thank Katarina Lang, the host and co-producer of “The Dig: Modern Solutions from the Ancient Mind,” for inviting me to speak about Iroquois democracy after CounterPunch published my article “The Iroquois Way of Impeachment.” We recognize Ms. Lang for developing and hosting a radio program that is a much-needed alternative to the corporate-media-controlled talk shows in the United States. We are grateful to Racjonalista and, in particular, to its editor-in-chief, Mariusz Agnosiewicz, for hosting the American Rationalist on this Polish website for several years now. By inviting me to edit the English section of Racjonalista, Mariusz has provided a forum for AR publications at the time we hardly had any online presence. Our partnership continues. Last year I was invited to speak at the First Polish National Conference of Rationalists and Freethinkers organized by the PSR, near Warsaw, Poland. (KD)

“America’s best political newsletter” has so far published two of my essays: “The Iroquois Way of Impeachment” and “Whatever Happened to Rogerian Argument?” It is CounterPunch, more than any other modern American magazine, whether print or electronic, that has inspired me the most to fight for freedom of expression. To me, its editors, Jeffrey St. Clair and Alexander Cockburn, continue the great American tradition of independent journalism, exemplified so well by H.L. Mencken or Gore Vidal. (KD) |
